As school closures continue and as the state develops plans to direct resources to the areas of greatest need, the Mississippi Department of Education is asking each family in the Pontotoc City School District, to complete this brief survey. The survey questions address ability of families to connect their children to digital learning offerings from their school through the internet.

To all current 5th graders and parents:
Due to recent school closures due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty of scheduling for the rest of the spring semester, we will not be able to administer the musical aptitude test for beginner band in person. In order to still obtain the information we normally gather from this test, we have formatted the test into a Google form. On the form, there is a link to the audio file necessary for the completion of the test. You can paste this link into the web browser of a new window, or into the browser on a different device. The test should only take 11 minutes to complete. The MOST important question on the test is the LAST question, “Are you interested in participating in band during the upcoming school year?” Even if you are not interested in being band, please complete the form and mark “NO” at the end of the quiz. (But we hope you mark YES!) We will select our 2020-2021 beginner band members based on these test results and on teacher recommendations. Thank you so much for your cooperation in our beginner band recruiting process. We hope to see you next year in Beginner Band!
