2021-2022 Virtual Learning Eligibility Criteria

Pontotoc City School District is proud to offer virtual learning to our students. The following criteria must be met to participate in virtual learning during the 2021-2022 school year.

  • Students must have a minimum cumulative final average of 75 for the 2020-2021 school year to be eligible for virtual learning at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year. From that point forward, enrollment will be based on the last grading period’s cumulative final average.
  • Students must maintain at least a 75 cumulative average at every grading period, including progress reports and report cards for the 2021-2022 school year.
  • Students will be placed on a probationary period of three weeks once the cumulative average falls below the minimum requirement. If the average does not meet the minimum requirement at the end of three weeks, the student will transition to traditional instruction at the time of notification.
  • Students will take all assessments in a proctored environment.
  • Students will have a daily synchronous schedule where the student and teacher are virtually connected.
  • Students acquiring more than 3 unexcused absences in a grading period during this time, or not completing at least 63% of the daily assignments for a total of 3 days, will transition to traditional instruction at the time of notification.
  • Students will uphold the student Code of Conduct. Breach of that Code of Conduct will result in transitioning to traditional instruction at the time of notification.
  • Students will be required to participate in required state-wide end of course assessments on campus.
  • Students with an IEP may be placed in and remain in virtual learning by IEP committee decision.
  • Students participating in virtual learning must complete the virtual learning enrollment process.
  • If at any point the student is removed from virtual learning to resume traditional instruction, that student will remain traditional for the remainder of the school year.
  • Virtual learning enrollment dates are as follows:
