Chinese New Year Study

(2/3) Mrs. Brown’s 3rd grade music class recently studied the culture and music of China in celebration of the Chinese New Year! Students learned fun facts about China and are practicing singing a song with Chinese lyrics that will be featured in their upcoming Calendar Days Showcase on March 6. The students enjoyed improvising with the tones of Chinese music based on a pentatonic (5 note) scale and had fun creating their own tunes using xylophones.
