Constructing Comprehension Cottages

(4/9) Using their current novel “Wish,” students in Ms. Spicer’s class collaborated in groups to design and build creative “homes” using index cards and classroom materials. Each project showcased their reading comprehension skills, with students incorporating strong text evidence to support their thinking.

The winning group stood out by demonstrating the greatest range of skills—using evidence to support their inferences, analyze point of view, identify elements of drama, prose, and poetry, write summaries, and describe character traits.
