WTVA Spotlights PMS Ag Program and Discovery Kitchen

(4/10): PMS is on the news!
Our middle and junior high students were recently featured by WTVA News during a “Discovery Kitchen” experience in the school cafeteria. Students worked alongside the cafeteria chef to learn how to follow a recipe and create a fresh salad dressing, gaining hands-on experience with measuring and food preparation.
The segment also highlighted our 6th grade Agriculture program, where students learn how food goes from farm to table. Through agriculture classes, students grow plants from seed, use compost from cafeteria scraps in raised beds and to help feed chickens, and develop life skills such as sewing and cooking.
This partnership between the cafeteria and agriculture program provides meaningful, real-world learning that helps students better understand where their food comes from.
