Pontotoc Middle School News

(8/5): The Pontotoc Retired Teachers presented Mrs. Kourtney Mathews, PMS Librarian, two books. Thank you for your continued support of our schools, teachers, and students. The students will enjoy these books for years to come.

(8/5): Mrs. Hillhouse held an assembly for fifth and sixth graders to inform them of the rules, expectations and consequences of behavior at PMS. She reminded them of what they are expected of with excerpts from the PCSD Student Handbook on technology including chromebooks, phones, and apple watches; transportation; dress code; and bullying.

(8/5): Students filled the halls and classrooms last week with great attitudes toward listening and learning. The teachers welcomed them as they discussed the rules and expectations at Pontotoc Middle School.

(8/5): Mr. Anderson and Mrs. Scott's ELA classes compared and contrasted characters using a venn diagram. The students participated by creating their own venn diagram.

(8/5): Mrs. Swain's sixth grade science class is kicking off Newton's Laws. She provided a fun way to get students' brains engaged with trying to guess what's in the bag. Random students' guesses were food, soft, and fruit.

(8/4): PMS teachers were treated all last week with sweet treats. Corner Cravings gifts, bagel bar with fruit and ice cream floats to end the week. It was a wonderful way to start the school year.

(7/31): We welcome new teachers and staff to our PMS family this year. Working together, this will be the best year yet!

(7/31): Special thanks to Toyota Mississippi for providing backpacks, supplies, and water bottles to our students. The students were excited to select their backpacks during Open House.

(7/31): Thank you for coming to Open House this week. We look forward to seeing our students on Friday, August 1. Teachers and staff are excited for a great school year.

(2/14): PMS will have a GLOW IN THE DARK DANCE on March 21, from 3:30 - 5:00. Tickets will be $10 and will be sold February 26 - March 8. More details will come later.
