DT Cox Elementary School News

(3/25) Students in Mrs. Ball's class worked together to place letters in the same layout as a qwerty keyboard. They enjoyed this activity, and said it was harder than they thought it would be!

(3/28) Congratulations to the following students for receiving positive office referrals this week! Keep up the good work!

(3/21) After benchmarks, Mrs. Hodum's students practiced sequencing and writing steps in a process by reading a recipe for Dirt Cups, and following it for a yummy snack!

(3/21) Mrs. Jenna Patterson, a former DTC teacher, donated Norwex cleaning supplies and money to help DT Cox rebuild classrooms. Thank you, Mrs. Patterson!!!

(3/19) Students in Mrs. Steele’s class are working together in teams to find answers to help them prepare for the upcoming benchmark. Teams got to shoot a ball for points for correct answers.

(3/18) Ms. Shield's is lucky to have her students! She gave them all lucky charms that represent why she is so lucky to have them in her class. Then, they were able to reflect on the people they are lucky to have, write about why they are special to them, and create a lucky charm for each one!

(3/7) To celebrate Read Across America week, Mrs. Hodum's class were given different scenarios featuring Dr. Seuss characters. They used these scenarios to write narratives. They completed the narratives and illustrated their writings.

(3/7) Day 5: "The Sleep Book" Wear your pajamas!

(3/6) This week, Ms. Britt's students prepared for their benchmark test by working on an escape room activity. They focused on main idea, context clues, character traits, poetry, and point of view. They had a great time collaborating and solving clues together!
