(9/9) We’re excited to begin a new program called Peer Helpers Plus. The program is focused on helping our students build character, make healthy choices, and develop important life skills. This week, Ms. Kinnard and her intern, Ms. Maggie, kicked things off with the first lesson, “My Go-To People.” Students learned how to identify trusted adults they can turn to, the importance of speaking up when something doesn’t feel safe, and the difference between tattling and reporting.

(9/9) This week in PE, Mrs. Bishop introduced a fun, new icebreaker game, and the students absolutely loved it! Each student picked a card with a different exercise, then rolled a die to see how many repetitions they had to complete. They played for three minutes, and it was such a fun way to get everyone moving, laughing, and excited for PE!

(8/4) What an AMAZING way to kick off our Accelerated Reader (AR) season! Our Little Warriors brought the energy and Warrior Pride as we celebrated the power of reading! AR encourages students to read books at their individual levels, take quizzes to show what they’ve learned, set goals, and grow into stronger, more confident readers. A HUGE THANK YOU to the PHS Band, Cheerleaders, and Football Players for bringing the pep rally energy and making our kickoff unforgettable! And WOW—our MASKED READER teachers had everyone guessing, laughing, and cheering as they took the stage! Today was about setting goals, celebrating success, and getting excited about reading all year long! Let’s READ, RISE & SHINE, Little Warriors!

(9/4) Ms. Shields’ and Mrs. Bryant’s classes became scientists today and made their very own ice cream! They explored how ice and salt work together to lower the temperature, allowing the liquid mixture to freeze into a delicious treat.
There were lots of shaking, observing, learning, laughing, and—of course—taste testing! Who knew science could be this SWEET?!

(9/4) Mrs. Andrews' and Mrs. Tutor's classes spent this week learning about deserts, and they learned that all deserts are dry, but not all deserts are hot!! To end the week, students got to enjoy a desert dirt cup!!

(9/4) Mrs. Collums' third grade math students practiced making arrays using dot markers! Her mathematicians had fun creating rows and columns while building a stronger understanding of multiplication.

(9/4) Miss Mary Klaire and Mrs. Ann’s class (with help from Mrs. Claire), celebrated the end of their unit on apples with an apple party! They tried lots of different apple flavored foods, and then made their own caramel or chocolate apples! They also discussed the different parts of an apple, and how apples are grown!
