DT Cox Elementary School News

(3/28) Mrs. Cortes' class is reading "Number the Stars" by Lois Lowry. The story is about a family who takes in a Jewish girl during WWII. Students were challenged to pack a bag that they could run with in under 10 minutes to show the class what they would bring if they had to leave their home immediately like the book character Ellen. The students really enjoyed this activity!

(3/25) Thank you so much for everyone who supported D.T. Cox library this week by visiting the Scholastic Book Fair! All money raised goes directly back into the library for new books and supplies. We had a very successful week!

(3/23) D.T. Cox would like to recognize Mrs. Leshae Collums for being nominated for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science (PAEMST). Her application was selected to move on to the national level!

(3/25) Mrs. Rowland's third graders have a new class pet. Meet Lizzo the lizard! The students are super excited about learning to take care of it. The lizard is used as a reward for good behavior and hard work!

(3/25) D.T. Cox students went on their first field trip in a couple of years this week to see the play Lion King, Jr. The students absolutely loved it! PHS students did a wonderful job!
