Pontotoc High School News

8/8/25: During the summer, several PHS students immersed themselves in career camp activities on the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University campuses. Students had the opportunity to stay on the campuses, take part in college lectures, and be involved in hands-on activities in the fields of pharmacy, culinary science, engineering, veterinary medicine and architecture.
Thank you to the Toyota Wellspring Education Fund for providing these amazing opportunities for our students!

8/7/25: Visual Arts 1 students painted records, CDs, and cassette tapes this week, along with rocks that they hid around campus for other students to find.

The Pontotoc High School graduation ceremony will be Friday, May 16, 2025, at 6:00pm, at the Tommy Morton Football Field.

5/2/25: The Pontotoc High School Yearbook staff won the Wallsworth Gallery of Excellence Award for this year's Little Warrior Yearbook. It was chosen because of its high quality, creativity, theme, and structure. The staff received a letter from Don Walsworth and a plaque. Yearbooks that receive this honor are used as examples in conventions state and nationwide. Less than 5% of books published by Walsworth receive the honor.

5/2/25: Congratulations to all of the newest senior Beta Club members. Here's a few snapshots from the ceremony.

5/2/25: The PHS Student Council delivered books to D.T. Cox Elementary School to inspire young readers and promote a love of learning.

4/29/25: Please take note of the testing schedule for the next two weeks. It's important for students to be present and arrive on time. We are getting closer to wrapping up this school year. Let's finish strong!

4/29/25: Congratulations to our 2025 Art Show Winners. Special thanks to Audrey Gentry, Chris Sneed, and Christy Wise for judging this year's show.

4/23/25: Spring 2025 PHS Frank K. Spain Interns did a great job presenting their internship slideshow presentations at the Frank K. Spain Internship Showcase, which was held at ICC Belden. Thank you to the CREATE Foundation, the Frank K. Spain Foundation, ICC Workforce Division, and to local businesses, industries and organizations for providing these special opportunities for students.

4/22/25: This school year, the Northeast Mississippi Youth Foundation raised $11,358 for their endowment fund at the CREATE Foundation. The money was divided among 14 nonprofits. NEMYF board members from each county got to vote to decide where their county's portion of the donations would be going.
