Pontotoc Middle School News

(4/7): Sixth grade math students explored the school yards for Easter eggs last week. Even though no prizes were inside, students enjoyed the fun of working math review problems inside the eggs.

(4/7): On Thursday, April 1st, students in Mrs. Hester's ELA focus groups had fun with Central Idea and Theme practice by starting with an egg hunt! Students worked in pairs to find eggs with either candy or a task card number inside. After the eggs were found, we went back in the classroom to practice reading and answering questions for our focus standard while enjoying their sweet treats!

(4/7): PMS wishes a Happy National School Librarian Day to Mrs. Mathews. She inspires our students to love reading and makes our library a place where students love. We appreciate all you do and are thankful for you at PMS!

(4/7): PMS students had fun with friends at the Glow Dance last week. They enjoyed the snacks, music, and taking pictures with friends!

(4/2): PMS students and staff are blessed to have Ms. Cousin as our paraprofessional. Your dedication, patience and unwavering support for our students help them grow, succeed and feel valued. We are grateful for everything you do.

(4/2): Most of the PMS students attended the Ole Miss baseball game as a PBIS reward for having no office referrals third nine weeks. The students enjoyed the game, concessions, and spending time with friends.

(3/31): Congrats to these Warriors! They were recognized for having positive attributes in their classrooms and hallways.

(3/23): Mrs. Tutor’s class visits the warrior room and brings the warrior room to her classroom for a benchmark reward. Students who grew on their benchmark got to play games and enjoy the Warrior Room.

(3/23): PMS will have a Glow Dance next Thursday, April 2 from 3:30 - 5:00. Students attending the dance will stay after school for a snack and soft drink. They can dance to their favorite songs all afternoon with friends!

(3/23): Today our fifth grade research scholars are discovering how scientists test the physical properties of substances. They had to use their observation skills to describe mystery substances and make inferences on what they think the substance is. They really enjoyed this exploratory experience.
